The London Battersea Heliport began operations in 1959 on the south bank of the Thames. With the closure of the City of London floating helipad in 1985, the London Battersea Heliport became the only CAA licensed heliport serving the City of London.
Today the London Battersea Heliport continues to provide helicopter landing facilities for both the business community and local emergency services. The London Heliport recently sold for an estimated £25m.
Located on Battersea riverside, the heliport was also recently revitalised with a new terminal and VIP lounge utilised by both private and corporate helicopter charter clientele. The new heliport facilities share the main entrance of the Hotel Verta by Rhombus.

The London Battersea Heliport is small helicopter handling facility located midway between Wandsworth and Battersea bridges. The Heliport uses a jetty over the River Thames to provide a heliport for take-off and landing. The heliport also provides parking facilities for a maximum of five helicopters, depending upon their size.
Permitted Hours of Operation
Monday - Sunday: 07:00 - 23:00
Normal Hours of Operation
Monday – Friday: 07:30 - 19:30
Weekend & Bank Holidays: 08:00 to 18:00
Please note that late opening requests must be made by 19:30 on the same day or 18:00 on weekends. Requests for early extensions should be made by at least 18:00 the previous day. No flights are permitted between 23:00 and 07:00 unless for the purpose of a medical or national emergency. All commercial and military helicopters are permitted to land at the London Battersea Heliport, however, certain aircraft are restricted by specific operational and flight path regulations such as single engine helicopters (i.e. Robinson R44) and larger helicopters (i.e. Sikorsky S92).
